When Should You See a Physiotherapist?

By Sabia Physiotherapy & Hijama Clinic · Last updated 2026-10-06

Many aches settle on their own within days. A physiotherapist can help when pain or stiffness lingers or keeps coming back.

Reasons to book

  • Pain lasting more than a couple of weeks
  • Pain that limits work, sleep, exercise or daily tasks
  • A sprain, strain or sports injury that is not recovering
  • Stiffness after a fracture, cast or surgery
  • Recurring back, neck or knee pain
  • Balance problems or fear of falling

See a doctor first if

Pain follows a serious accident, or comes with chest pain, new weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, fever or unexplained weight loss.
